About our guest
Norm Fink graduated from college in 1974, entering an era when automation was just beginning to emerge, predominantly in larger industries. In the late ’70s, his family business, a smaller woodworking venture, saw an opportunity for innovation when a family member joined after earning a master’s degree in computer science. This prompted a pivotal shift toward computerization, despite initial concerns about the high costs of technology at the time. Driven by a commitment to improvement and inspired by his family member’s expertise in software development, Norm became self-taught in computer science, transforming the business landscape with newfound technological capabilities.
